Ankle Boots ... At Last!

I finally got my wish of buying ankle boots! (And I didn't even have to accidentally google porn to find them!) Chase and I were shopping at Target and found tons 'o shoes for 50% off, so we each got a pair. One of our rare, but fun!, splurges. I bought these puppies here for $15. I'm still working on incorporating them into outfits, but so far I've been wearing them with skinny jeans. Also, I'm crazy tall when I wear them, which is basically awesome. I always had a goal of being 5'6" to 5'9", but I stopped growing at 5'4". Also, 5'4" is the average height in the U.S. for women, so I never let people call me short.

Okay, so now I need some more ideas for wearing these shoes. I'm planning to wear them with tights and a dress sometime, but I don't know how else to wear them. Can you roll your jeans up? Is it okay if part of your leg shows? Can you wear them with leggings? So many questions for a new pair of shoes. :)

Outfit Details:

Sweater -- Handmedown
Shirt -- H&M $7
Jeans -- JCPenneys $10
Necklace -- Gift
Boots -- Target $15

Total Cost: $32

  1. You are two inches taller then me. Im only 5'2". Anyways, I think they would be cute if you showed leg. They are your boots so I think however you want to wear them will be fine.

    1. Ummmm, this qualifies as harassment and harmful to my self-esteem. Jaykay. And thanks! You should get you a pair. I feel so hot when I wear tall shoes! I wonder if tall people feel so hot all. the. time. Just another reason I wish I were tall.

    2. Haha! No, tall people don't feel hot all the time.....I think I traded skinny for tall. I wonder if skinny people feel hot all the time ;-)
Seriously, those are cute boots. I cannot wear heels so its lucky I'm taller. I love (love, love, love) wearing my boots with dresses and leg warmers at the top of the boots. I just scored myself a pair of brown suede boots at the Goodwill yesterday, I am so happy.

  3. I'm 5'4" and yet I'm taller than you. Actually, I'm really 5'3.5" and I'm taller than you. But since I lie about that half inch I won't judge you.

    1. No no no no, there's no way you're taller than I am! Technically, I'm 5' 3 and 15/16. Not kidding. Dad measured me, and you know how precise he is in measurements, so there's no way I'm 5'3.5".

    2. Hey there... don't be crediting someone else with my measurements... lol. I was the one who measured you at 5'3" & 15/16, silly.

    3. Also, it depends on what "average" you look at. From the National Health Statistics...

      For all races:
      ages 20+ = 5'3" and 8/10
      ages 20-39 = 5'4" and 3/10

      For Non-Hispanic Whites:
      ages 20+ = 5'4" and 2/10
      ages 20-39 = 5'4" and 9/10.

  4. I think they'd look cute with leggings! I'm 5'5'' and some people still think that's short though I know it's above average! And I'm glad I'm no taller...Angel's height gives me a good reason to not put myself through the torture of wearing heels. :P

  7. Roll your skinnies with them! They are so cute. I think I'm going to have to check out my Target! I'm 5'6" & still feel short most of the time.
